Scripture for the day: Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
Thought for the day: So that's it; the gospel in a nutshell. When all is said and done, Seth Rees was right. He was an old-time preacher of the 19th century who absolutely believed in purity of heart and life. Perhaps your curiosity has been piqued to the point of peering pointedly into the purpose of it all personally, or perchance to perfect the parlance needed to persuade your compadres of the pathway to spiritual prowess. Well, here it is:
Preaching - 1 Cor. 1:21; Romans 10:14,15

Penitence - Psalm 34:18
As a result of "preaching":

Pardon - Nehemiah 9:17
Peace - Romans 5:1
Praise - Psalm 149:1

Proof - Exodus 20:20
Patience - James 1:4

As a result of these things we become:
Peculiar People - Titus 2:14

Protected People - Isaiah 27:3
Polished People - Psalm 144:12
Headed for Paradise - John 17:24

If that's not enough to give a person courage to face the journey, I don't know what is! The promises of God are beyond our ability to even comprehend. Paul reminded the Ephesians that God is able to do "immeasurably more than we could ask or think" and that's a promise of God. Sometimes I think the only reason He doesn't is because we keep getting in the way. So, let's resolve together today to let go of whatever is keeping us back and let God do something amazing in us and with us today. If you do then you can truly:
Go take on your world. - Bill
